Cake Push Pops
Cake Push Pop containers are a great way to display a range of desserts at your next celebration.
They look great on a Candy Buffets filled with lollies as well as sitting on a dessert table filled with delicious cupcakes.
We found a great image this week with some push pop containers filled with rainbow cookies which we loved. The cookies have been covered in colourful fondant and then sprinkled with sanding sugar.
We think that they would make a great alternative to Lolli bags at kids birthday parties.
Why not try these yourself? You will need;

Halloween
As Halloween is approaching we thought we would share our Skulls & Roses cake to get everyone in the Halloween spirit.
The skulls were modelled out of fondant mixed with Tylose powder to ensure that they set rock hard and held their shape. They were then dusted with some black petal dust to give them the extra dimension and definition.
The roses and leaves were also made from fondant mixed with Tylose. We prefer using fondant and Tylose for sugar flowers however you can also use flower modelling paste. It really depends on what you find works best for you.
The web pattern was hand piped using royal icing. You can either make royal icing from egg whites and pure icing sugar, or you can use a pre made mix that you add water to.

Baby Blue Cupcakes
We had the task of creating cupcakes for a boy baby shower and were given creative freedom. It is quite rare as cake decorators to have full control over the cake design so we were quite excited.
We used a range of our cake decorating supplies to create this cupcakes including;
- Baby Blue Polka Dot Cupcake Papers-We ended up using two papers per cupcake so that the polka dot pattern on the papers really stood out.
- White Fondant
- Wilton Royal Blue colour paste- We coloured the paste in three shades using the one wilton colour.
- Hologram white Rainbow Dust- Just a little sprinkled over the top of the cupcakes added a little extra something.
- Bakels White Chocolate cake mix- I know that it is a commercial mix and not from scratch but I really love the flavour of this mix. Maybe a little too much:)
- Nestle White couverture chocolate- A little Ganache under the fondant helps the fondant stick to the cupcake and really adds to the flavour.
- Tylose Powder- We mixed in Tylose to the fondant for the edible toppers so that they would set and hold their shape.
- PME quilting tool
